Holy Trinity Church has a friendly, welcoming
and traditional feel with a mixture of traditional hymns
and more modern songs accompanied on the organ. A range of services
and activities is offered within a manageable sized congregation
where you can get to know people and be known.
We
aim to be a congregation that practice faith that is relevant today,
based on the Bible, and filled with the Holy Spirit.
If you haven't been to Church for a while then
we recommend our Family Services which are held on the 1st Sunday of
each month.
During the week we run a parent and toddler
group (Bumps n
Babes) and we host the youth group
(Grounded) as well as there being the opportunities to join in
with midweek
Housegroups. A mid-week shortened Holy Communion
Service is held every Wednesday morning @ 10am.
Many community organisations hire either our large Church Hall or
meeting room
(details). Please contact our Administrator if you would like to
use it. Children and Youth Groups run by the Church are staffed
by volunteers who are CRB Checked and we have a Safeguarding Policy in
force.

The "Great War Memorial Window" (designed by the Vicar's brother in
1920)
The ancient seals of Holy Trinity Priory (which used to be where
Christchurch Mansion is now built)
HT 175
Described on an independent
website as a "Church that squats like a dirty seagull about
to take off"
this then goes on to say "the interior of the
Church is one of Ipswich's best kept secrets;
it is fabulous
and of outstanding interest, because there is simply nothing
else like it anywhere.
The East Window is remarkable with an
idiosyncrasy of its own - there's nothing quite like it!"
2009 was very much a "year of
preparation" with a substantial amount of work being carried
out - mainly from grants and generous donations - which
included; new disabled toilets, refurbishment of the kitchen, the children's room, the vestry
and the removal of 4 rows of pews and subsequent creation of
a new children's area and coffee area. The installation of a
new PA system, repairs to stained glass windows (including
the ancient Seals of Holy Trinity Priory). Currently new safety rails
are being fitted to go around the balcony and a date booked
for the total refurbishment of the ladies toilets.
2010 is now the year to celebrate 175
years of the Church being in the community
with the intention of
encouraging as many
of the community as possible to be aware
of the church through planned special events, visits by
schools and encouragement to
come along on a Sunday
